Priesthood Canoe Trip

Now that Jarom has the priesthood (received at age 12 in our church), Dad and Jarom both prepared to go out into the woods! They got mosquito nets in case the bugs were bad. Samuel was a little skeptical...

At camp, Jarom and Dad set things up!

Our Camp was on the Maine/New Brunswick border. The Big Rock is Canadian, the trees across the river are American. We don't have to pay custom duty if we catch fish swimming on the Canadian side of the river.

Breakfast consisted of good ole' oatmeal!

Here is where we started canoeing, at St. Croix, NB. The US is on the other side of the bridge.

The canoe trip was an all day event. A SIX hour trip down the river. (About 15 km or 9.3 miles)

Dad and Jarom had fun! They did not bring the camera with them of course, but they had some great adventures. (Twice we snuck to the US side for bathroom breaks). About 3/4 of the way were large rapids that we plowed through. Of our 7-canoe team, three boats capsized and one broke. Jarom and Dad made it out high and dry!
