Young Men's Camp

This past week, Jarom went on a three day camp with other young men from our church. Jason went with him and they had a great time!

On the first day, we set up camp and had a fireside discussion about the Young Men's Program.

On the second day, it was a bit misty but we still went out canoeing. Jarom started in a canoe and Jason went in a two-man kayak. When the other rider tried to get out, the kayak flipped getting Jason all wet. Jarom and Jason rode the kayak back.

Later that day, the boys made marshmellow guns with plastic pipes. The mini-marshmellows were shot out of the gun like a blow-pipe. They had competitions and games with them.

Every night there was a campfire with treats.

On the third day, we had beautiful weather and we all went on two long hikes. The first one was to an old abandoned copper mine, the second one was to a pool of water with a waterfall. We all swam there for a few hours.

A side note from Mom (BJ),
What was learned at YM's camp?
1. The Stake YM's Pres learned not to keep food in his extra tent. All the chocolate bars for S'mores were taken by a rodent and a hole was left in the tent. Jason graciously donated his 2 chocolate bars he brought.
2. Young men CAN survive on junk food for 3 days. My guys brought some healthy food as well.
3. Dad has to do YM's camp with 4 other boys. He was whipped when he got home. Can't wait to see him when Samuel goes to YM's camp. He'll be 50.
