Last Saturday the whole family went on a hike in our backyard. Here is a google map of our trek:
We ended up at a cabin that most likely is used for hunters in the back woods. The total distance is about 2 km to the cabin. The trails are for 4-wheelers or snowmobiles. If we kept going, we would have ended up at a lake (about 2 more km).
It took us about an hour and a half to get there. Samuel was in a backpack for a little bit, but he preferred to hoof it.
We stopped half way for a snack...
and found a small toad!
We ate lunch at the cabin. (And used the out house.)
Along the way, we passed by a creek that had fish in it. We let the kids splash away with their shoes off.
The older kids want to go all the way to the lake, it would be too long for the younger ones (and Mommy - she's glad she was not a pioneer).
