After Christmas we had family come for a visit. Grandma Cambridge, Aunt Chris and cousin Alicia. They stayed for a week. Here are some of the fun things we did. Everyone got the flu (someone was sick almost every day of their stay here). Aunt Chris and Alicia were the only ones who went home without catching the bug. Our first adventure was to "Crystal Palace" (an indoor amusement park about 1 1/2 hours from our home). It's small, but all we have here in the Maritime's and the kids enjoy going. We used our Christmas money from Grandma and Grandpa Russell to go. Thanks so much! We all had tons of fun!
Colorado and Alicia on the roller coaster.
Alicia and Spencer on the air-planes.
Spencer and Samuel being pirates.
After wards we went to Swiss Chalet for supper. We had a delicious meal (except Colorado started feeling sick) and then on our way out Samuel threw up in the front foyer. Poor little guy. Colorado slept her sickness off the next day.
Our attic (not finished as you can see by the insulation), has an air hockey table. Here's Alicia and Isaac having a try at it. Sorry I don't know who won.
We made some home-made pizza and bread stixs. Alicia helping me out.
Here's Jarom striking a pose.
Jason helping us out with the bread stixs and pizza dough.
Grating cheese.
Isaac cutting pepperoni.
Voilà finished bread stixs! So tasty! Taste even better dipped in spaghetti sauce.
New Years Eve. We all donned party hats and leis. Shhhhhh! We changed the time on the downstairs clocks so the younger kids would think it was getting late. We wanted them to get to bed at a decent hour for church the next day. We didn't want to be dealing with cranky kids Sunday afternoon.
Spencer has an evil look on his face, but actually he is really quite happy.
We all listened to everyone's favourite songs on "You Tube" and played some games.
Aunt Chris took a picture of us during one of our many morning scripture readings. We hope the younger kids are getting something out of our daily readings (even though they some times sneak toys to play with - talking about Avery in this shot).
Isaac cracking some nuts.
An impromptu shot of Grandma. Caught her laughing, and she is still in her PJ's.
Pillow fights in the living room. Aunt Chris took these shots. Gosh had I of known they all would of gotten in trouble. I'm such a party pooper.
We had an afternoon of sewing pillow cases. Alicia had never sewn before so we did something simple for her.
Colorado's friend Ashley joined us.
WARNING! Scary photo coming up. So here's my Jillian Michael's work out going on the TV and below is Alicia and myself working out. I had my hair pulled back and would never go in public looking like this. I had to burn off all the delicious holiday sweets. My niece needed no exercise as she is super thin.
Alicia went ice staking for the first time. Some of us stayed home while others went on this adventure. We have a new addition to the family for awhile (until further notice). We have an adorable 10 month old foster baby. He is in our care for now and I stayed home with him and to do some house cleaning. Alicia wanted to go sledding while at our home but the weather wouldn't cooperate and it didn't snow.
Our last adventure happened the day everyone went home. Before we took Grandma, Aunt Chris and Alicia to the airport we (all the girls) went on a hike up behind our home. Here is Alicia out by the garden. It was so odd having no snow. It was just cold with ice here and there. I never would of thought we could go up the hill in January and no snow.
Grandma getting up a steep slope.
Alicia and Colorado sitting by the river that was half frozen.
My Mom and I.
Too bad it is fuzzy, but here is my Mom, sister and I.
Forgot to mention that we all went swimming at the Aquatic Centre too. Christmas vacation wouldn't be fun without an indoor swim.
