Another Day in the Russell Home

We finally decided to show Jarom how to mow the lawn.  Our lawn mower died (may it RIP - it was a heavy piece of metal to push around).  Jason got us a new/used mower off of Kijiji.  It works great!  We are taking it slow and not having Jarom do the whole yard.  It's a lot of work and there are lots of hilly spots and places to avoid with tree knots on the ground.  Jarom did great his first time mowing!

For Mother's Day we had the sister missionaries come for supper.  Jason cooked the meal (what a super Hubby!) and surprised us with 2 delicious tasting cakes.

Here is my hard working, gardening man.

I've got him on board this year and we are doing "Square Foot Gardening" (I must say he has been a huge help in the past as well, but this year he made the boxes, stained them and mixed the soil for them).  There's a great book out by "Mel Bartholomew".  I highly recommend it.  We are trying this method of gardening out and see how it goes.  It is less space with more produce.

We had a really hot day back in May and took the kids for a dip to the Kennebecasis River.  We took a lot more shots but cannot post then, due to our foster toddler being in them.  Trenton the little guy staying with us had a blast playing in the water and trying to eat all the rocks he could get a hold of.

Jason turned 42.  Hey Honey I'm still younger than you!  He had his fav cake, "Strawberry Short Cake".  In our home that's what we call angel food cake with strawberries and whip cream on top.

Here is our little Samuel.  Don't restrain yourself from laughing because I couldn't stop.  He got a bug bite on his forehead and kept scratching it. His forehead got a bump and made his eyes look funny.  He also has a scratch on his nose.  Samuel wanted to make some funny faces, and that just makes his faces look all the more hilarious.  His face is now back to normal.

Colorado took this shot.  She spent the evening curling my hair, used a lot of hair spray to hold it in place and then took a snap shot.  She had fun being a Hair Dresser for the time she worked on my hair.
