July Happenings

Celebrating Canada Day at the town park in the middle of Hampton.  Samuel and the rest of the kids (below) enjoying some cake.

Isaac wanted to try out the bike rodeo in the hopes of winning a new and bigger bike (like Jarom and Colorado had won previous years).  No win.  Better luck next year.

Someone got ahold of the camera.  The little stinker.

Now he's ready and willing to take a photo of himself.

Colorado celebrated her birthday early (the beginning of July).  Her official b-day was July 30th.

She wanted to do a water slide with a bunch of her friends.  It was cool out but the girls braved the cold.

Dad made Tortillas and the girls made "Pizza Tortillas".  Some of us had regular tortillas.

Colorado requested "Cupcake Icecream Cones".  You cant see but I've topped them with mini choc bars.  The icing was to be piled high like ice-cream but it was too goopy and didn't want to stay up.  No worries though, the girls didn't care and ate them anyways.  I made the boxes for them to sit in because they don't do well standing up (found that out from a previous b-day party).

Onto a new birthday party.  Avery had his party a few days after Colorado.  His official b-day was July 28th.  He went to see the movie "Dispicable Me", with 3 of his friends and Dad (Jason).  The camera was forgotten so no pics while at the movies.  We celebrated with cake the next day (with the family). The cake toppers are "Dispicable Me" characters.  

One night for fun we made some popcorn in a pop can.  Samuel saw it on the internet while I was brousing facebook and wanted to try it out.  You cut the pop can so you can put a small amount of corn in it with some oil.  You put in on the stove element, wait, and voila you have popcorn.

Worked okay, but took a long time.  Our hot air popper does much better.

One scorching hot day we went to the Hammond River not far from our home.  There was a nice breeze and the kids had a great time.

Another painting project.  I took the doors off  (kept them off this time) of the kids book shelf (it used to be an old pantry shelf) and painted the whole shelf unit white.  It used to be off white and looks great now in our living with all the kids books on it.  Sorry no finished shot.  Just use your imagination and you'll see it.

My famous "Egg Man" creations for the younger boys for lunch.  Very delicious too!

The Sacred Grove.  It was lightening and thundering and they closed the grove down for a bit until the weather improved.

Of all the places to see friends, Pageant is the place.  Jason saw our friends the Lavoie's.  Too bad our whole family wasn't there as well.  Great to see them!
